Thanks to Sara, I heard about a Thread Social Sample Sale.
If you read the previous post you know that I am completely obsessed with Thread Social.
When I heard about the sale, I knew that it would be completely irresponsible not to I had take advantage of this once-a-season opportunity, in a struggling economy.
Here's the newest addition to what I like to call my "Investment Portfolio" - a/k/a My Closet.
Don't be so quick to laugh. How's your 401k looking these days? Not as hot as this sweet confection, I bet.
I have a huge crush on this dress.
When I see it, I get a bit frazzled and my heart skips a beat. I suddenly forget what I was going to say, and my cheeks turn red.
I have no doubt it would be a solid investment.
But now that I'm paying a gajillion dollars a month for rent, I'm not sure I can afford it.
And even I - typically quite creative when it comes to fashioning party dresses into work-wear - can't figure out a way to pull it off at the office.
So instead, I will wait for it to go on sale. Or for my winning lotto ticket.
I feel like this is one of those pieces that could backfire on me terribly. In the sense that I might be wearing it and as I walk by a group of teenagers, they'd bust into laughter and point ithout shame.
But I feel compelled to buy it anyway.
And if there were...
they'd taste like rich, dark chocolate
and sound like soft, sultry jazz
and buzz like intoxicating pink champagne.
Dandelion Eyelet Doleman Dress; available at ShopBop
at Kate Spade (and in my closet)
very, very Juicy at Zappos.
Cute Scarf to ornament New Trench Coat: Done.
Purchased from The Vintage Mistress on etsy. Gosh I'm a sucker for polka dots.
My valentines this year came from Argyle Whale. Total perfection in my eyes: hearts, strawberries and bunnies. What more could a girl ask for?
You can't really tell from this picture, but the objects on the dress? BUNNIES!!! Can you even believe?
Praise the Lord and Praise 3.1 Phillip Lim.
I can't wait for Fall 2009
I shriekedin horror when I found out that Zappos was sold out (in my size) of the Delman shoes I'd been coveting for weeks. After an intense and desperate Google session ("Delman + shoes + grey + PLEASE GOD FIND THEM"), my prayers were answered.
I found them on...you'll never believe it...Amazon.com. In my size and at a way better price.
Every year I promise myself (and everyone around me) that I will buy a S.A.D. lamp. I think its finally time to do it.
Check out this model from Philips. It's called the goLite BLU Look how small and cute!
Has anyone used one of these before and if so, do you have a recommendation for a good brand + model?
I don't want a huge ugly one that will make my office mate hate me.
This is my new bunny, Pickle.
I adopted him from Hug-a-Bunny, a rabbit rescue in New Jersey.
If you aren't looking to adopt a bunny, please consider making a contribution to support their efforts!

I:
Had brunch with Andrea at BG at Bergdorf Goodman where we ate lobster mac-n-cheese and polished off a bottle of Taltarni
Watched the unedited version of My Best Friend's Girl and blushed the whole way through
Ate dinner at Buddakan + drank sparkling sake (thanks, Nick)
FINALLY got to wear my Marc Jacobs Heart Dresses I have been saving for months. Yes, that was dresses plural. There were two. Here's one:
What did you do?
But I did love this coat
And seeing Shopahopaholic on Opening Night (A "Pink Carpet Premier") with 8 of my girlfriends + loads of sugary candy and yummy cupcakes (Thanks, T!) followed by Mexican and Margs at Pacifico could not have been better.
As a side note, isn't Krysten Ritter unbelievably beautiful? I loved the dress she wore in her first scene.
Were you?
After, we indulged in desserts - like whoppie pies, gelato and Kava - at Confections at One Girl Cookies. If you haven't been, I urge you to go. And if you say "I don't live in New York City." Well, that's really no excuse.
Yes, I have a bit of spring fever this year. And if pre-ordering from Sienna + Sister's 2009 collection eases the pain a bit, I am willing to do it.
Probably impractical, but absolutely, positively, makes me weak-in-the-knees gorgeous. (And officially MINE.)
And who said life is supposed to be practical anyway?
Mine have strawberries for Grandma Peggy and make me EXCITED to wash the dishes. Who needs a dishwasher anyway?
of ballet class
Wish me luck!
(And while I have the opportunity, a shout out to my friend Candice, owner of Lola Stretch, who walked me through the complicated process of buying my ballet slippers, without judgment or laughter.)

Juicy Couture's Strawberry-Print Silk Dress, which I am calling my "Peggy Lee" dress after my grandma who adores strawberries and makes the best jam ever.
(FYI, I paid significantly less purchasing in the store...a little tip from me to you. Go to 5th Avenue. See David. Tell him Beth sent you. xoxo)
when I heard about te "Give Gorgeous" class on Daily Candy, I knew it was for me. When I read that there were snacks, I signed up immediately.
Here's what I created (but don't let this deter you; I'm neither a professional photographer nor florist)
was Becky Kazana's adorable ballerina ornaments. I bought so many that I was able to create a mobile from a vintage display I found at Stash Style in Chagrin Falls, OH.
